Privacy policy and data minimisation

Services Explained is built so you can read guides and use our checklists without handing over personal information. Our interactive tools run in your browser and store nothing on our servers.

What we collect (and what stays on your device)

The website provides static guides and browser tools. There are no accounts, document uploads, advertising trackers or booking submissions:

  • Analytics: This release includes no analytics script. Cloudflare hosting and security services may process IP addresses, request URLs, access logs and authentication information. Hosting analytics settings must match this disclosure before launch.
  • Browser tools: Entries are not uploaded. All five tools let you deliberately save a draft in this browser, restore it or delete the saved copy. They do not save changes automatically. Anyone using the browser can reopen a saved draft. You can also download an editable draft and open it later in the matching tool. Unsaved changes are lost on reload or closing. Optional document reading, image text extraction and Word/PDF exports run on your device. Original documents and attachments are not uploaded or included in saved drafts. Rental drafts can include document names, content fingerprints, page references, checked passages you append, private notes and correspondence. Reselect original files to rebuild a rental PDF pack after reopening. Extracted text stays temporary unless you copy or append it into a saved field. Document-reading assets are served by this site; choosing a file does not send its contents. Text you copy, download or print remains on your device or clipboard. A browser or password manager may retain form history according to your own settings. Do not enter sensitive identifiers.
  • Contact: If you email a correction, the editorial team receives your address, message and any attachments. Use the minimum information needed. Your mail provider also processes that email.
  • Protecting your documents when dealing with providers: Our guides also explain how to protect your own privacy—such as sharing only your suburb and car make/model when getting a car-key quote, and showing driver licence or registration proof of ownership at the vehicle rather than emailing copies to unknown websites.
